Hakim A. Lakhdar, leadership coach
About Hakim
Hakim believes leadership is a privilege, one that begins with leading yourself. For more than two decades, that belief has shaped his work with high-performing professionals from around the world.

Hakim A. Lakhdar, M.A., M.B.A.
Transformational leadership coach to CEOs, founders and executives
First and foremost, Hakim is a devoted husband and loving father to identical twin boys. That foundation of family and connection inspires his work helping leaders lead themselves and others with clarity, confidence and compassion.
His path has been anything but ordinary: early years in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, living and studying in Morocco, playing music across the Southeast and Key West, and working as an actor and stunt professional in South Florida (ask him about the Spanish soap operas). Every chapter gave him the empathy and range to meet clients exactly where they are.
A global thread runs through it all, from degrees in international relations, sociology and Middle East studies to work across Central Asia, making him a natural partner for leaders whose work spans countries and cultures. His clients have also included world-class and elite collegiate athletes, and rising leaders preparing for what’s next.
Hakim believes leadership is a privilege, one that begins with leading oneself effectively. With him, you won’t only achieve your goals; you’ll love the process of becoming the leader you aspire to be.
Two decades inside elite institutions
Before coaching full time, Hakim spent more than twenty years with globally recognized institutions. His work there always centered on people: coaching, advising and developing high-performing professionals from around the world.
American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative
Supported international recruitment, trained staff, and managed programs across Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Harvard Law School
Oversaw operations and finances for a research center and its executive education program, and co-launched Emerging Leaders, a staff development program.
University of Miami School of Law
As Director of Professional and Intellectual Life Programming, designed executive education and professional development programs, and fostered interdisciplinary collaboration as Executive Liaison for Joint Degree Programs.
The training behind the work
“I keep doing my own work, so I can meet you wherever yours takes you.”
That’s why Hakim keeps investing in his own growth. Every discipline below is one he has worked through himself, and he keeps adding to them. With clients, he draws on one only where it serves the work, and always with your agreement.

Further training
Select any of these to see what it is and why it matters.
Emotional Intelligence
- What it is
- The ability to recognize and manage your own emotions, and to read and respond well to the emotions of others.
- Why it matters
- It’s the difference between reacting under pressure and responding with intention, and your team feels that difference every day.
Success and Life Coaching
- What it is
- A coaching discipline focused on clarifying what you want in your work and your life, and turning it into a clear plan of action.
- Why it matters
- Your leadership and your life shape each other. Aligning the two is what makes success feel as good as it looks.
Conversational Hypnosis
- What it is
- An approach drawn from the work of psychiatrist Milton Erickson, using carefully chosen language and metaphor within ordinary conversation to help you see a situation from a new angle.
- Why it matters
- Real shifts often happen below the surface. Used with care and transparency, it’s an invitation to look past old assumptions toward what analysis alone can miss.
T.I.M.E. (Time Integration for Maximum Empowerment) Techniques
- What it is
- A guided process from the NLP tradition that works with how you hold your past and your future in mind, so earlier experiences stop steering present choices.
- Why it matters
- Leaders often carry old setbacks into new decisions. This work is about setting them down, so your choices can come from where you’re headed, not where you’ve been.
EFT Tapping
- What it is
- Emotional Freedom Techniques: gently tapping a sequence of acupressure points on the face and body while focusing on a specific feeling or situation.
- Why it matters
- A simple, portable practice for steadying yourself before a high-stakes conversation, presentation or decision.
Reiki
- What it is
- A gentle practice from Japan, built on the idea of energy flowing through and around the body. The practitioner’s hands rest lightly on, or just above, the body to encourage deep relaxation.
- Why it matters
- Much of what passes between people is never said out loud. This work is about noticing when the energy in a conversation shifts, and responding in the moment.
Begin with a conversation.
Every leadership journey has its own twists and turns. Yours begins with a conversation.
